Oh Ubud, how have you managed to be so beautiful. How, just how you ooze art and beauty from every nook and corner of your being. Why is it that every time I walk through your streets something new is revealed. Why do I have to guess that the door I am standing in front of leads to a temple or to a private house.
Just why, when I enter a restaurant on a crowded street to eat I end up sitting in front of a lush green paddy field to enjoy my satey’s and soto’s. Surely the meals are elevated just with your endearing beauty.
Your colorful bazaars buzz with activity and interesting artificats. Touristy you may be in parts, but you still hold many a secret.
The world famous Tegallalang Rice Terraces on your outskirts are a marvel of human effort. The way they offer wide panoramas to visitors is marvelous. One never gets tired of walking up the green steps to enjoy their beauty.
And oh yes, then there is the famous monkey forest. Forget about the beautiful forest, even the street leading to famous forest is literally decorated with tasteful monkey scriptures all the way.
There are some great museums and then there is you. Keep it up, the buzz, the beauty, the art, the culture. Please preserve yourself for the coming generations regardless of the tendency of us humans to destroy everything beautiful.
