The fort oozes history. A Majestic fort that has seen many a pitched battles. From extreme bravery to extreme lechery this place has seen it all. Multiple great battles have been fought which has left this place in shambles. Shambles they may be, but the fort still stand proud to a glorious past. As per the Rajput tradition many of these battles have ended up with the male members sensing the defeat imminent going all with the final war cry in the air. The legends of Rani Padmini’s beauty and the lust of Alauddin Khilji for her, the supreme sacrifice of Panna Dhey to the land of Mewar, the mysticism of Meera Bai, the rise of Rana Sanga and other tales are brilliantly crafted and captured in the Light and Sound show. The show is star studded and takes the viewer enchantingly to the history of Mewar.

 Vijay Stambh

Once you are in the vicinity of the fort you won’t miss Vijay Stambh. A very impressive 9 stories minaret which stands tall and proudly reminds one of the glorious days of Chittorgarh. Chittorgarh finally had to be abandoned by its Mewar rulers as it was becoming increasingly difficult to protect. The action now shifts to Udaipur.
